Pallium India for the last 20 years, has been 'demonstrating' quality palliative care through the Trivandrum Institute of Palliative Sciences (TIPS), a WHO collaborating centre on Training and Policy on Access to Pain Relief.
We envision an India where every person can access quality palliative care and effective pain relief as part of their health care, regardless of their disease or stage of care. By 2030, we aim to reach 10 million patients who suffer from serious health conditions with our model of demonstration, education and facilitation (DEF model);
Demonstrating quality palliative care delivery at TIPS through homecare, In-patient, telehealth, rehabilitation services, and out-patient services including engaging with local communities
Educating healthcare professionals and other stakeholders from across the country, and
Facilitating the provision of palliative care all over India through collaborations with;
-Governments for favourable legislation and policies
-NGOs, private organizations, Government hospitals and communities for developing Palliative Care Centres (PCC).
-Assisting in the availability of medicines for pain relief.
