Pallium India invites support for the procurement of 35 wheelchairs for patients living with impaired mobility. These devices will be deployed across our inpatient and outpatient services, home-care programme, and paediatric palliative care, prioritising patients with paraplegia, quadriplegia, and other conditions resulting in restricted or complete loss of ambulation.
For a person confined to a bed or a single room, an appropriate mobility device is not a convenience — it is the difference between dependence and autonomy. Access to a suitable wheelchair restores a patient's ability to move safely within the home, attend clinical appointments without distress, and participate in the ordinary rhythms of family life. It also materially reduces the physical strain borne by caregivers, who are often elderly spouses or parents managing transfers unaided.
