Support Vaiga’s Journey to Grow and Thrive

Vaiga is a 12-year-old girl who has been courageously battling a serious medical condition since early childhood. Diagnosed with craniopharyngioma at just 2.5 years of age, she underwent brain tumor surgery in 2017 at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute. Since then, her life has depended on continuous medical care and lifelong treatment.

Today, Vaiga requires Somatropin injections (recombinant human growth hormone)—an essential therapy for her growth, development, and overall health. She needs 17 vials every month, costing approximately ₹9,616 (excluding GST variations), in addition to other medications costing over ₹2,000 monthly. Vaiga is raised by her single mother, Archana (30), who is her sole caregiver. She works as a temporary school helper, earning just ₹5,000 per month, with no income during school vacations. Despite her efforts, the family is struggling to meet even basic needs, let alone the mounting medical expenses.

They belong to a BPL family (Pink ration card holders) and live in a modest, sheet-roofed ancestral home. With limited and unstable financial resources, continuing Vaiga’s treatment has become an overwhelming challenge.
